Wayfarer
2019 - 2020
Wayfarer is an interactive driving audio-tour experience for the intellectually curious traveler. As the Founding Product Designer, I was tasked with the exciting challenge of bringing the vision of two founders to fruition. I led the conception of the entire end-to-end experience, including brand design, marketing strategy, marketing design, UX design, UI design, interaction design, motion design, design system development, and UX research.
Given that this was an early-stage project, it would require significant brainstorming and exploration around how the app would solve the proposed problem. I determined the traditional Design Thinking process to be the best fit for this level of ambiguity. Collaborating closely with cross-functional team members is part of my design philosophy, and I thoroughly enjoyed the process of iterating, prototyping, user testing, gathering learnings, and brainstorming solutions with this team.
The numerous variables and technical challenges involved with building an app around a user driving a vehicle made for a truly enjoyable challenge. As a very user-centric designer, I am proud of having derived our product strategy and overall experience from user research carried out at multiple points throughout the design process.
